Broken red coral, not a filter

Red organ-pipe coral fragments mix into white sand. The ratio, and the angle of the light, decide how pink it looks on the day.

Four quick answers

Is it actually pink?

Yes, but it is a blush rather than a colour from a postcard. It reads strongest in low sun and at the tideline, and washes out flat under midday glare.

What time should we be there?

Late afternoon, which most day boats cannot manage because they are already heading back. An overnight charter can sit there while the light drops.

Can you snorkel straight off the beach?

Yes. The fringing reef starts a few metres out and the water is sheltered — this is one of the easiest snorkel stops in the park.

Are there facilities?

None. No shade, no water, no shop, no toilet. Everything comes from the boat.
